It’s that time of the year! Teachers, mentor groups, youth clubs are all asking us, ‘what’s going on for kids in Newcastle this year?’
So we thought we’d put together this blog to share a few of our favorite events happening this year for children in the Newcastle area.
Jack and the beanstalk – pantomime
Theatre Royal on Grey Street in Newcastle will be showing one of our favourate traditional tales – Jack and the beanstalk! There will also be some exciting 3D special effects that promise a great fun and magical evening for children of all ages!

Festive events at Beamish hall
We all love Beamish, especially the kids, so this year we’re all in for a treat as we have the chance to enjoy Beamish with a festive theme – Children will have the chance to visit farther Christmas in the grotto, feed the reindeers and even go ice skating. It’s the perfect festive trip for children.

Ice skating at Life center
From the 12th November the ice rink at Newcastle’s life center will be open to the public! If you’re visiting with 10+ people it is advised that you book your space. And if you want to make the day extra special, the Life Centre will be showing Ice Age: Dawn of Dinosaurs too so you can always treat the children to a great day out!

Meet farther Christmas at Alnwick Gardens
If you want to go for more of a traditional day out, you can’t go wrong with this one. Alnick gardens is one of the most beautiful destinations in the North East and we’re sure it will look extra special around Christmas time. When each child meets Farther Christmas they will get a little gift and also meet his elves too so it’s the perfect magical trip out!
Cinderella – Pantomime
The Cinderlla Pantomine is just a wonderful classic Christmas activity for children, as well as adults. This year the pantomime will take place at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle on Grey Street and will include a great cast of Danny Adams, Clive Webb and Chris Hayward.
